i've watched this about 12 times and counting at this point. and you should too. i'm completely blown away and my heart is in a gloopy mess on the floor.
This Christmas we received a beautiful gift from our friends via One Kings Lane, an insanely awesome discount home decor site.
I went on over there and have since made two purchases (one being the Kalorik steam press I was talking about! half price!) and today, this really really beautiful set of Fino Lino place mats. No no, I do not ever even eat at a table, nor do I have guests over for dinner often.
But on the rare occasions I do host a dinner party or even have friends over for dinner, I'm very happy to say that these place mats will be the cushion between the plate and my table.
I could care less about all the "collaborations" with Target.
Everything is always so gorgeous in a press preview and all the ads, but then you see actual product and its ALWAYS crap and never feels as exciting as you thought.
So I gave up on caring about "collaborations".
But I obviously care a whole buttload for this one. And I'm putting it out into the Universe that it's going to be AWESOME.
i'm pretty excited. also, hungover, but mostly, excited. i bought this from somethings hiding in there today. i've had my eye on it for a while now and i went to check up on it and there was only 1 left, and i wasn't sure if they'd be adding more or not.... i didn't want to risk it. it's super radical.
so now i'm obsessed with quilting - at least the idea of it. i've been researching, watching videos, finding patterns that are in my skill level (i.e. level 1 on a scale of level 1-level 10,000,000), buying nice new threads, even just washing and ironing my fabrics - and most of all - actual quilting. my favorite part of this whole process of learning has been quilting in my diningroom/office while my husband sits in the other room playing video games - god i feel old. even if i'm not very good, i really really like doing it, and i guess that's the whole point. anyway, my sewing machine broke - AGAIN. a third time in one week. i think it's time for a new one. it's been really frustrating cause as soon as i get some momentum it dies on me like a fly - 24 hours then it's dead.
here are a few (crappy) pictures of the quilt i took over the weekend - one after i basted it and one while i was doing the quilting. so so fun! now sewing machine, get back here so i can use you and abuse you.
I didn't even get a message or notification or anything - I just saw me! I guess that's what it's like when Playboy Playmate's teenage boys just randomly spot their moms?
so this morning I got a very nice email from a very nice girl telling me she linked me in her VERY nice blog.
to say "link" is an understatement! she devoted a whole post spotlighting me!
i nearly fell over when I read how much she enjoyed my one man show! my mother always told me i'm an aquired taste.
It is so kind, and full of great, clever writing! (i just typed "righting". for the record, i'm really tired)
She devotes her posts to bargain shopping - which, hello, we all need help with. i think every single person i know has said both these things in the last month - "I'm poor" and "I have nothing to wear". So, there - problem solved! To check out her adorable and funny and USEFUL (something I can't say for myself) blog, Bargain Bex, click here!
the most whirlwindy trip ever. no sleep on either flight. looked like crap pretty much the whole trip which is perfectly fine since now i have something to attain to.
in any case - we went because jamie's bestest most best friend in the world is a genius movie filmmaker, and we went for his London World Premiere! The movie was seriously awesome. seriously seriously. see below for the trailer.
50 Cent was in the movie - he was there!
so was Mel B.
she yelled at her "husband" in front of everyone. it was great.
anyway it was completely fun but i am glad to be home.
we had an hour or two to go shopping (hello xmas presents - good bye 100% handmade gifts), and look what i saw in the window of Jigsaw! ye old yarn, beckoning me home!
i am truly in love with this window display - i wanted to jump in with some hockey sticks and knit away!
