blog about a blog

i got a very very nice text today from someone i worked with in the ol' days of being a fashion(able) editor (person). laney crowell, a noted fashion editor and one of the girls behind daba fame, wrote a very lovely post on her blog fa-lo-me about my stationery.

happy joy joy

so this morning I got a very nice email from a very nice girl telling me she linked me in her VERY nice blog.

to say "link" is an understatement!
she devoted a whole post spotlighting me!

i nearly fell over when I read how much she enjoyed my one man show!
my mother always told me i'm an aquired taste.

It is so kind, and full of great, clever writing!
(i just typed "righting". for the record, i'm really tired)

She devotes her posts to bargain shopping - which, hello, we all need help with. i think every single person i know has said both these things in the last month - "I'm poor" and "I have nothing to wear". So, there - problem solved! To check out her adorable and funny and USEFUL (something I can't say for myself) blog,
Bargain Bex, click here!

My post is on top! (giggity)

pinhead

wouldn't these pinwheel-esque thingies make really nice homemade ornaments? just thread a needle with fishing wire or bakers twine, or whatever you want, and poke it through the top, make a loop, and ta-da - ornament-astic.

they are so easy to make and with the floral paper they really come out unique and pretty.

style me pretty did this super awesome tutorial, but after doing it once, it really is easy.

so cute!

Holy Freaking Grail!

So, a few days ago I received an email from the lovely Erin from the lovely Bird and Banner asking if I had any images of my bridal bouquet for their guest blog post on Design Sponge.

Bird and Banner did my wedding invitations. They are insanely perfect and awesome and amazing. I'd have done them myself but they are another level of uhmazing. nice kind creative, easy to work with, and cool.

Lets go back to talking about how obsessed with Design Sponge I am, shall we?

Anyway - the girls from B&B are doing this incredible post on how to adorn your lovely husbands (and wives) with traditional gifts in non-traditional ways. Yesterday they started with paper (natch), and today they move onto cotton.
Yet another triumph.

Here's where I come in - for my wedding I had a cotton bouquet. I still have it in a silver vase in my bedroom at my mother's country house in Upstate New York.
It's arsome.
It really is a great second anniversary gift because you can keep it forever. I sprayed it with my wedding perfume and now it is really the ultimate keepsake.
It gives me all five senses!
Not the dirty ones.

Although I personally did nothing to achieve such a prime place on my favorite site, I have reached one of my goals in life.

So yay! Today be good!

pumpkinhead

halloween is really super close and i'm super excited. one of the nice things about halloween, is the pumpkins - they are nice to see and to eat!
another nice thing bout them pumpkinz is they are also applicable at thanksgiving, so any leftover pumpkin crafts or items you have laying around can be used to decorate a table, vignettes, etc, etc......

i've been looking for a nice knitting pumpkin pattern so i can make a few for my mom for her thanksgiving table (she doesn't read this, so it makes no matter)... and finally after browsing the ultimate resource - craftig - i found one from lavendarlime knits!

these are so cute!

tape measure

Last night I purchased some really awesome deco tape - which is something I've been wanting for a while, and oddly, considering its like the cheapest thing ever, I haven't yet brought myself to purchase.

Alas, after a few glasses of wine and some Xbox Live Call of Duty (no one ever accused me of being cool) I dared to take the plunge!

here's what i got below:

i also got this lil guy for good measure:

visit missmacau on etsy for all things adorable

i bought it so i can make cool things like this:

It's Official

At least one person reads my blog!

Aside from my friend Liz, and a few forced friends. Not even my mother reads it.

But I got the loveliest email full of praise and kindness
from a wonderful someone named Elif!

yay!!!

rainyday templates

what a perfect day for this post.

it's just kinda crappy enough.

anyway i don't remember where i was browsing but i saw a post for this amazing company, called RainyDayTemplates. They have (actually) cute templates for blogger and stuff. They are totally affordable and if you want to spruce up your blizog, this is a really great way to do it ! For extra cost you can customize it to your exact specifications, so it's really up to you how much you want to spend, which i really like.

i am definitely going to purchase one, but here are a few of my faves.
