cute butts

so today is a very exciting day for me (and my husbandufflemuffin)...

we quit smoking 20 weeks ago today!

we were both long time smokers, and have tried to quit (together and separately) many times before. we have NEVER been this committed and have definitely never lasted this long. i am in it to win it and this time, it's for good!!! i have absolutely zero desire to smoke and i'm really really proud of jamie for sticking with it (he did not go willingly).

for those who want to quit and have failed before (basically anyone who as ever smoked, ever!) - for us, the patch worked wonders. it's a little bit expensive but its completely worth it. smoking will cost you a lot more in the long run, in more ways than one!

here are some cute brass ashtrays so you can put out your butts!!!

romp romp romp

ok so let's just set aside the notion that this gorgeous thing won't look the same on ME as it does on HER. that doesn't mean i wont buy it and wear it while feeling mild inner shame.

o'clock

im not sure i know one person who actually owns an actual real life clock except my mother. blackberries, iphones, cable boxes, microwaves, everything HAS a clock on it, but no one has an actual clock.

I just got a new bedside table (not the gorgeous overpriced one i posted about yesterday, a cheaper, less awesome but still nice West Elm one). And the last thing I want is to roll over and look at my big gross shiny blackberry first thing in the morning to see just how late I am for something. I want the "tick, tick, tick" I had when I was little before everything plugged into a wall.

So I'm-a shoppin for a lovely little clock to go at my bedside. From my adventures on the internet (ok i am still grateful for some of the things that plug into walls), here are my faves.

happy sunday

let's go on a trip.

lady liberty

so i should have done this awhile ago, but i've just been feeling
really lopey (translation lazy) on the blog front.

i went to the liberty of london pop up shop in new york last week with my good friend annie and while it was super awesome, i was mildly disappointed cause they didnt have most of the stuff i wanted there (the gardening supplies, cake stands). or they may have but i just didn't see it, what with all the insane psychotics running around.

anyway i got a bunch of stuff so i DID end up banking !

please excuse my majorly failed attempt at a creating a half decent image for you of a few of the things i bought.

hankey blankey

how sweet and adorable are these quilts made of vintage hankerchiefs?!
i'm completely obsessed, how gorgeous would a large one look?
but for now, the sweet little ones make perfect baby gifts.

one king's lane

This Christmas we received a beautiful gift from our friends via One Kings Lane, an insanely awesome discount home decor site.

I went on over there and have since made two purchases (one being the Kalorik steam press I was talking about! half price!) and today, this really really beautiful set of Fino Lino place mats. No no, I do not ever even eat at a table, nor do I have guests over for dinner often.

But on the rare occasions I do host a dinner party or even have friends over for dinner, I'm very happy to say that these place mats will be the cushion between the plate and my table.

This makes me want hot pink dinner plates.

maybe i'm crazy

But I've NEVER stepped in Uniqlo.
I walk by it all the time, and it just seems like a hunt waiting to happen.

But the other week I saw my friend Ryan and noticed that his jeans were completely radical.

So today I had a spare minute and had a look on their website....

And - omg treasure trove!
I'm cabbin' it down there tomorrow and doing my spring shopping.

fo sho.

my faves from their website:

a girl can dream

So it's almost a joke in our house about how many chairs we own.
We have an 8 person dining table, but my dining table has since been shoved up against a wall to mask itself as my workspace.... so there are about 6 or 7 chairs just kind of sitting randomly around my house. My desk chair is a dining room chair, which would be great if I didn't get up about 300 times a day.

I've toyed with putting it on casters, but what I really need is something that swivels AND has wheels...
But for now I'm going to dream of all the superb and insanely expensive chairs I WISH I could afford.

thanks, 1st dibs. now i hate myself.

Pee to the Mee

I could care less about all the "collaborations" with Target.

Everything is always so gorgeous in a press preview and all the ads, but then you see actual product and its ALWAYS crap and never feels as exciting as you thought.

So I gave up on caring about "collaborations".

But I obviously care a whole buttload for this one. And I'm putting it out into the Universe that it's going to be AWESOME.

March 14th, people!!!

sunday funday

i'm pretty excited.
also, hungover, but mostly, excited.
i bought this from somethings hiding in there today. i've had my eye on it for a while now and i went to check up on it and there was only 1 left, and i wasn't sure if they'd be adding more or not.... i didn't want to risk it.
it's super radical.

hail to the friggin chief!
