the beginning

so this is the very very beginning of my Christmas decorations. very simple and kind of summery, actually - but i decided to put something colorful up so there you go - I'm calling it Christmas! i'm gonna make a bunch more so there are like 15 all jumbled up there!

i just tried to teach myself to crochet.

it did not work.

i've been told government lies about how easy crocheting is.

craft night funnies

oh gosh.

it was funny.

in living color

so basically craft night last night was the least productive night in history. essentially we crafted for 10 minutes then our friend phillip came over and we drank a bottle of wine and/or sake each, and had a 90s dance party in my living room. let's just say the following was liz's contribution and it pretty much made my head explode with wonderfulness.

liz and i went to buy fabric yesterday. the store we were planning on going to in chinatown was closed because they were "home for purim", literally.

(insert hehe)

anyway so we wandered about and went to the barneys of fabric stores - purlsoho. really cute little store, cute choices for fabric, well edited, but really expensive. i had to forgo grocery shopping for one week in order to buy what i wanted. anyway, i took some (not so great quality) pictures of my new purchases! i'm excited cause its all so cute!!!

craft night part deux!

oh it was wonderful!

we laughed a lot and made a lot. it was very productive! but besides that it was the most fun craft night ever in my opinion! she soi it foist! i can't post the pictures of what i made because they are presents and i dont wanna spoil the fun.

here are the things liz made. an awesome felt bird which she created the pattern for - ain't she smartz!? and also a felt HOT AIR BALLOON! it came from nowhere and is the most wonderful condom holder ever made.

oh, its just a sample of words to come

so here is a sample of the craft night bingo. there's no bingo involved, i just thought it deserved another word. our letters are radical. the sum is absolutely better than its parts. it was super duper radically fun. and i cannot stop spelling things. can. not.

sisterhood of the traveling crafts

its craft night! yay! although only the second official craft night, i don't know how i ever lived without it. the Sisters' Andrien come over, felt in hand, and we make stuff. We make the stuff we usually make alone, but its way more fun together. also, I make dinner, which makes it all v. v. grown up. last week we made charity valentines for fred flare (stay cute!) - look out for them starting next monday on www.fredflare.com! this week we are making a felt alphabet!
and my mom is coming! yips!
