uh oh, spaghettio

so, i was cooking dinner last night, mindin' my own beeswax, just cuttin' tomatoes.... and low and behold, something came to me! a teeny tiny tomato!!! it was so teeny i thought i'd take a picture. look at that tomato!! it really deserves a moment on cute overload, but i think it might be a little too inanimate for them. but ach! what a cayoot tomato! jamie and i must have looked at it and talked about it for a good 2 minutes before he snatched it out of my hand and murdered it with his teeth.



anyway, so after jamie hacked the tomato to death, we kept on cooking and what resulted was a loverly fantastical meal! i'm pretty sure you can see lil'tommy tomato in the corner there, separated from the big dawgs.

below is the recipe for our meal.

i made a salad which i stole from our friend monet. it involves mache, fennel, pomegranates, avocado, heirloom tomatoes, and sugar snap peas! oil and vinegar plus coarse salt and a few cranks o' pep, and its officially the yummiest salad ever!

then i made the basta pasta. below is the (obvi) martha recipe.

then i made a pear melba for dessert. pear melba! what a name. it sounds so '50s.... i told my mother and she nearly cracked in half from nostalgia. it is seriously magically delicious.

2 bottles of wine and 5 hours of call of duty: world at war later, we hit the sack!
